I have data from a SQL Server database. I would like to load it into Power BI and do my data modeling there and then use that model to build reports in report builder that I can upload to report server. There is no option to connect to a Power BI dataset from report server, but in report builder I have the option to connect to a Power BI workspace dataset. If I publish the dataset to my workspace and then connect to that dataset in report builder, would I then be able to use that model for a report that I upload to report server?
There is a workaround which I have never tested, and don't know if it's still valid. Have a look at this thread.

No, there is currently no support for building reports against a powerbi data model in report server. Also note that the feature to connect to a Powerbi DataSet is only available in Power Bi Report Builder, which is meant to be used with the service and will have incompatible features. With On-premises power bi report server you should use Microsoft Report Builder.
