How can I get the PDF export to default to landscape and narrow margins?

Hi,

The Page Setup in SSRS doesn't affect the PDF, it only affects the printout.

1.  The exported PDF for my report contains only a few columns of the entire width of the report.

2.  The Page Setup won't Save with the report.  So even if I print to a PDF with Landscape/Legal Size/narrow margins, I have to set the Page Setup parameters again the next time I open the report.

It sounds like you might be changing the orientation in the print dialog.

If you open Report Builder and then right click on the gray area outside the report body you should have an option to see the Report Properties

And in there you can set the orientation and page size and that should save as the default for your report which will apply to both printing and exporting to page based formats like PDF.

That's the solution, thanks d_gosbell.
