How can I change the data source online

Hello team,

How can I change the data source for the Power BI report when it is on the Reporting Server?

Ah thanks for reminding me 🙏

Ok if we are in the Report Server you could use the SSAS to create diffrent environments and simply changing the connection string to the diffrent environments.

Best,

Kathrin

Hi, the Problem with Report Server is you have to set up your data soruce in the Desktop. What would be your exact use case here?

Best,

Kathrin

Sometimes the file is too large to re-upload. Let's say I have two dashboards, the Old version and the New version, both in Report Server. Then I made some changes in the testing database and pushed it to the production database; now I want to change the source of my new dashboard to read from the Production Database

This might be useful in Power BI Service but not in Reporting Server
