HTTPS Cert for Power BI Report Server.

Hi Fabric Community,

I have installed a new Power BI Report Server on a new server.  I have all of it configured except for the HTTPS Cert for the 443 port.

Install info

Windows 2022 Server

SQL Server 2022

Power BI Report Server May 2024.

I am looking for the step by step in creating the HTTPS Cert.  I know where to set it in the configuration tool, but not how to get the cert as a part of the Server Certificates.

Does anyone know where I can find those steps to created the HTTPS cert?

Thanks

DKHughes55

Hi,@DKHUghes55 .I am glad to help you.
According to your description, you have installed and configured Power BI Report Server
but don't know how to create and install an HTTPS certificate for port 443, and even though I'm not very good at configuring this operation, I'd like to help you. I have found relevant documentation and posts that have been resolved and I hope this will help you.

Overall, you need to perform the following steps.
1. Obtain a certificate
2. Install the certificate
3. Configure Power BI Report Server: Open the Power BI Report Server Configuration Manager. In the Web Service URL or Web Portal URL section, select HTTPS and bind to port 443. Select the installed certificate and apply the configuration.
