Hi MR66
The “Data with current layout” option for Export to Excel is greyed out in Power BI Report Server when using certain visuals or configurations. This option is only available for visuals that support it, and may be unavailable in these cases:
-
The visual uses features not supported for export (e.g., certain custom visuals, grouping, or drillthrough).
-
The report has been configured with settings that disable this feature.
-
The visual is a map, R visual, or some custom visuals.
-
You are viewing a paginated report, not a Power BI (interactive) report.
-
The report is being viewed in a browser or environment where the export capability is restricted due to browser security or Report Server configuration.
Recommended actions:
-
Try exporting data from a standard Table or Matrix visual to check if the option is enabled there.
-
Ensure the report is published as a Power BI (interactive) report, not as a paginated (RDL) report.
-
Update to the latest version of Power BI Report Server, as export features are improved and expanded in each release.
- For custom visuals, use the standard visuals or check with the visual’s documentation to confirm if export is supported.
If the above information is helpful, please give us Kudos and mark the response as Accepted as solution.
