Data source changed to chinese

All connection strings for Dashboards on Power BI Report Server have been changed to Chinese, and no longer work.

This has already happened several times and the restart of the server helped before. But now restarting does not help.

Hi @TaciturnP

If all connection strings in Power BI Report Server have unexpectedly changed to Chinese and stopped working, it indicates a possible issue with localization settings, system configuration, or unauthorized changes. Previously, restarting the server temporarily resolved the issue, but now it no longer helps. To troubleshoot, first, check the server’s language and regional settings to ensure they haven't been altered. Next, review the configuration files (rsreportserver.config and web.config) to confirm the connection strings are correct. Additionally, inspect the ReportServer database in SQL Server, particularly the DataSource table, to verify if the stored connection strings have been changed. Examining event logs and Power BI Report Server logs may provide clues about recent system changes or errors. Also, consider performing a security audit to rule out unauthorized modifications or malware. If feasible, upgrading to a newer version of Power BI Report Server might resolve potential bugs. As a last resort, manually resetting the connection strings in the Report Server settings or database may restore functionality. If the issue persists, contacting Microsoft Support for deeper analysis would be advisable.

@TaciturnP
I have saw same issue before in very early updates, seems this is happened again in the new version. Stopping and restarting Report Server should brought back the connection strings. Also, please re-enter login credentials and passwords and re-created schedule refresh if you have.

Stopping and starting the server helped in the January 2021 version. Now stopping and starting the server does not solve the problem. We have several dozen reports, the problem is in each of them.

Hi, did you manage to solve this issue? We have the same problem and a restart is not fixing it. Cheers
