Could someone please tell me what I could do to reduce report data loading time? Currently, it takes around 80 seconds, and the report size is approximately 700 MB. Also, it confuses me that after the initial slow loading, every subsequent report opening is instant, without any waiting. This lasts for about an hour, and then it goes back to slow loading. Is there a way to extend the period of instant loading throughout the entire day?
Please help!
Hi @PaulPBI ,
To reduce the report data loading time, you can try the following steps:
Optimize the report: You can optimize your report by identifying and locating any bottlenecks. You can use the built-in feature of Power BI Desktop called Performance Analyzer to analyze your report’s performance. This feature records how long each visual takes to load and displays the duration of each element in milliseconds.
Upgrade your system: If the report is still slow, you can consider upgrading your system.
Regarding your question about extending the period of instant loading throughout the entire day, I’m afraid that it is not possible to do so. The reason why the report opens instantly after the initial slow loading is because the data is cached in memory. However, the cache is cleared after an hour, which is why the report goes back to slow loading.
