D365 Business Central scheduled refresh on Power BI Report Server

Hi, is there a way to configure scheduled refresh for report that pulls data from Business Central? Also we'd like to use entra app instead of an account as MFA is required for the second option which affects our refreshes in power bi service sometimes.

Hi @Taras_WSI ,

Power BI Report Server does not support scheduled refreshes for Dynamics 365 Business Central as a data source. If you are using Power BI Report Server, you would not be able to configure a scheduled refresh for this data source.

Hello Experts,

I have a Power BI Report that has the combination of data coming from Business Central and CRM. In this report I am joining multiple tables with other in the Power Query part. When I am refreshing the dataset on the Power BI Desktop it is getting refreshed without any error. But, when I refresh the same dataset on Power BI Service, it is showing this error.

I have tried increasing the command timeout as well, but seems that is not the issue.
Please guide further.
Thank You!

If you are using merge and expand functions in Power Query then that is the most likely cause of the issue.  Rather than using merge/expand, try to first load the tables, create a 1:many relationship and then use the RELATED() DAX function to add the columns you need from the dimension table (1 side of 1:many).

Is there a way to do manual refreshes once report is uploaded onto report server?

No, refresh for D365 (automatic and also manual) is not supported na on-premise PBI RS. Only option is (except move to Power BI cloud), is refresh in Power BI Desktop, and save back to RS portal
