The option of "As the user viewing the report" in Windows Authentication does not work.
According to the microsoft instruction for AAS authentication, ADFS is required for on-premises credentials to access Azure resources, like AAS.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/analysis-services/analysis-services-manage-users
“If signing in to Azure by using a Windows account, and Universal Authentication is not selected or available (Excel), Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) is required. With Federation, Azure AD and Microsoft 365 users are authenticated using on-premises credentials and can access Azure resources.”
We have AD FS set up.
The option "Using the following credentials" in Windows Authentiaction works fine.
And the "Log in using these credentials, but then try to impersonate the user viewing the report" option is checked.
RLS works perfect with this setting.
I just want to understand why the "As the user viewing the report" does not work.
Is there any one have the related experience to explain the reason? How can we make it work?
Thanks,
Kaniel
