Cannot link to a datasource URL housed by SPO Modern
Power Bi is not accepting the Modern SPO URL format as a datasource / example our Excel file is at: https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/:x:/r/teams/SteyerFinancials/_layouts/15/Doc.aspx?sourcedoc=%7B10FFD175-5C41-44CE-9F20-932A09286D13%7D&file=Steyer_PO_INVOICING_FY19_H2.xlsx&action=default&mobileredirect=true&cid=9404a4e9-bcb9-42af-ba90-879db12288c0
Is there a work around here? Tks

That's because unfortunately Sharepoint online is not listed as a supported data source for PBIRS. The only options I'm aware of is to either move the file to a supported location like a local file share or to host your report on PowerBI.com.

Interesting, our xlsx file previously connected to Bi fine from: https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/teams/SteyerFinancials/Shared%20Documents/General/Steyer_PO_INVOICING_FY19_H2_xlsx
It would be good to know why the Modern SPO URLs do not work.

It looks like you are a Microsoft employee so you could probably find out more about this internally.
But my understanding is that the issue is around storing and forwarding Azure AD credentials for scheduled refreshes. I believe that on PowerBI.com this is handled by functionality in Azure which does not exist in the on-prem environment.
