Hi every one,
Hi understand from the Power BI October 2025 Feature Summary blog post that Power BI is transitioning from Bing Maps to Azure Maps. The article details the migration for Power BI Desktop, Web (Edit-mode), and Power BI Report Builder (PBIRB) for paginated reports.
While the post outlines a two-phase migration for paginated reports from Bing Maps to Azure Maps in PBIRB and eventually in the service, it is not explicitly clear what the implications are for Power BI Report Server environments.
Can the Power BI team confirm if the transition from Bing Maps to Azure Maps for Power BI Desktop and paginated reports will also affect Power BI Report Server? We’d appreciate details on the timeline and any necessary steps for existing reports using Bing Maps visuals.
Best regards!
Marco

Thank you for the answer @v-nmadadi-msft .
Hi understand that updates from authoring tools will extend to Power BI Report Server.
However, if the plan is to deprecate Bing Maps, what is the recommended alternative for reports on Power BI Report Server until Azure Maps are officially released for it? Could you also provide a timeline for when Azure Maps are expected to be available in Power BI Report Server? This information is crucial for our future planning.
Hi @Maverik91 ,
Currently, there isn't a roadmap published regarding Azure Maps in Power BI Report Server. If the previous feature is important for your functionality Please consider sharing your suggestion in the Power BI Ideas forum

Hi @Maverik91 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Power BI Report Server is an on-premises report server with a web portal where you display and manage reports and KPIs.
The reports published to it are authored using Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder. Therefore, any mapping-related updates or transitions such as the move from Bing Maps to Azure Maps implemented in these authoring tools will also extend to the reports deployed in Power BI Report Server.
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
Thank you
