ArcGIS for Power BI not supported on Report Server – any alternative?

Hi,

I’m using Power BI Report Server (on-prem) and ArcGIS for Power BI shows the message:

“This map does not meet the requirements for Power BI Report Server.”

I understand ArcGIS is not supported on Report Server.
Is there any recommended alternative or workaround for map visuals in an on-prem environment?

Thanks.

Thank you for checking in.

ArcGIS for Power BI is not supported on Power BI Report Server, and we’ll proceed with supported on-prem alternatives (e.g., Shape Map / built-in maps).

Appreciate the support.

ArcGIS for Power BI is not supported on Power BI Report Server, and there’s no workaround to make that specific visual work on-prem. These are supported on Report Server:

1. Built-in Map & Filled Map visuals

  • Bubble maps (latitude/longitude)

  • Filled maps (country/state/region)

  • Bing Maps geocoding (limited but works)

2) Shape Map (TopoJSON)

  • You load a TopoJSON file (custom boundaries)

  • Bind it to a column in your model

  • Fully offline / on-prem compatible
