Analyze in Excel with PBIRS

I am desperately confused as to whether or not I can connect excel on an on-prem instance of PBIRS. I am accustomed to the "Analyze in Excel" feature for the PBI cloud service and I am trying to accomplish the same thing for an on-prem implimentation. I am having trouble finding any useful information.

Unfortuantely, this is not supported. The recommendation is to load that type of data/model into an instance of Analysis Services, than connect to that from Excel, if you are looking for an on-premises option.
