After upgrading Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) from version 202201 to 202501, my reports using DirectQuery to connect to an MSSQL 2019 database fail to load data. The error message states: Cannot connect to the Analysis Services server. Verify that the connection string is correct. How can I resolve this issue?
#Have already re-saved and republished the reports using the corresponding Power BI Desktop (202501), but the issue persists.
#The data source connection test in PBIRS Web Portal succeeds, confirming that the connection information is correct, but the reports still cannot retrieve data.
#Checking the logs, found an error: Failed to get CSDL.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or are there any configuration changes required?"

Hi @A111462,
MS add a security function in the 202405 version which will cause the Direct Query to SQL Server getting error, even though you test your connection successfully.
you have to add an environment variable to Power BI Report Server Machine.
