ALM and version control of paginated reports in PBI Service and PBI Report Server

Hey @chrisfin - so I was listening to the video...

"Self-service BI and enterprise reporting on-premises with Power BI Report Server"

And you said you had a meeting on Friday to discuss version control of RDL based reports in the PBI Service. How'd it go? 🙂

So our current support model is Visual Studio 2015, Team Foundation Server 2015, SSDT, SSRS. We create our SSRS reports in Visual Studio, save in TFS, and deploy to SSRS. I'm still struggling with how to explain to our team how that process works with Power BI reports in Power BI Report Server. Are there any plans for an SSDT equivalent for PBIRS, or is that ALM focus all about paginated support in the PBI Service?

The Friday meeting was postponed to this week 🙂

The ALM discussion is around paginated reports in the service - there's no plans to introduce PBI reports support into SSDT.  It was discussed awhile back, but isn't on our radar at this time.

Hi guys, is there a way of doing version control for Power BI paginated reports?

Paginated reports are supported in Deployment Pipelines in the service, same as Power BI reports.
