ACan no longer masquerade as a user without adding them to the workspace first.

I have RLS setup in several Power BI reports.  In the past, I have been able to use the "Test as User" functionality in Power BI (online) where I can type in the user email and see what they would see. I can test this by adding the user to the Role itself in the Security setting and W/O adding them to the workspace or the dataset itself. For the past several years, this was great, I could test what a user would see what they should see BEFORE giving them access

Now it appears as if this functionality has been turned off? I get a pink status bar that says "This user does not have access to the dataset or report." Which is fine (because I haven't given them access yet to the workspace), but I'm trying to find out how I can still see what the user would see (as I've been able to do in the past).

Am I missing something? How can I see what a user would see w/o adding them to the actual workspace/dataset first?

When I key in the same email address or username in the "View As" functionality in Desktop, the dashboard is not returning any results.

wonder if this is related to this recent "improvement"  Power BI September 2023 Feature Summary | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI

Very likely. I was able to test out the specific role in Desktop (when I found out I had to not only key in the email but also check the role they had). But it would still be helpful to validate BEFORE access is granted. Thanks.
