Real-Time Dashboard continuous refresh no longer refreshes faster than 10 seconds

Hi everyone,

Until last week, I had an option in Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Dashboard to configure refresh as Continuous, meaning that visuals would refresh whenever new data arrived, with the maximum time without new data being around 10 seconds.

After the latest update, which I believe was released yesterday, the behavior seems to have changed. Continuous refresh now appears to be enabled by default, but the minimum refresh interval is 10 seconds, so it does not seem possible to refresh faster than every 10 seconds anymore.

Also, for visuals that do not support continuous refresh, or when no new data arrives, the dashboard now seems to refresh every 30 seconds.

My questions are:

  1. Is there still a way to configure Real-Time Dashboard visuals to refresh faster than 10 seconds?
  2. Is the old continuous refresh behavior still available somewhere in the settings?
  3. Is there any workaround for achieving near real-time refresh when data arrives, instead of waiting for the fixed interval?
  4. Was this change intentional as part of the latest Fabric update?

This is important for our use case because we monitor live operational data, and even a 10–30 second delay can make the dashboard less useful compared to the previous behavior.

Thanks in advance for any clarification or suggestions.

  • Hi Borna,

Sorry to hear the issue persists.

Since you've already verified the Live Refresh settings and are still experiencing different refresh behavior after the recent update, I recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support. When creating the support ticket, please include the screenshots and the troubleshooting steps you've already performed, along with details about the recent Live Refresh changes and the behavior you're observing. This will help the support team investigate whether the behavior is expected or if further investigation is required.

    Hi Borna,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community forum.

Could you verify the dashboard's Refresh settings (Manage > Refresh settings > Live refresh)?

    • Refresh rate limit – Sets the minimum time interval between refreshes when new data is ingested.
    • Fallback refresh interval – Controls how often visuals that don't support ingestion detection or use unsupported data sources are refreshed.
    • Manual refresh only – Ensure this option isn't enabled.

Visuals that support ingestion detection refresh when new data is detected, while unsupported visuals rely on the configured Fallback refresh interval. This may help explain why some visuals are refreshing every 30 seconds instead of immediately when new data arrives. Could you confirm your current Refresh rate limit and Fallback refresh interval settings, and whether all affected visuals support ingestion detection?

For reference, the Live Refresh settings are shown below:

I hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

    Thank you.

      Hello,

First of all thanks for quick response, refresh is currently set like this:

This is what I'm talking about, refresh rate limit is st to 10 sec and fixed rate to 30 sec, i can't go below that. Last week I could go and set refresh rate to continuous and everything was refreshing at maximum intervals of 10 sec (not 30).

Those are settings I lost and can't access it anymore.

      Hi tayloramy,

Does this mean that the issue is likely on my side?

The reason I am asking is that, when I checked this last week, the same visuals were refreshing within a maximum period of around 10 seconds. Today, I noticed that the same visuals sometimes refresh only every 30 seconds. I am not sure exactly when this behavior started, but I only noticed it today.

I have checked everything I could on my side, and the only conclusion I have been able to reach is that this behavior may be related to the recent update where the live refresh settings changed.

Is there anything specific I should check to confirm whether my visuals are still using ingestion detection, or could this be related to the recent update?
