Fabric Platform Monitoring accelerator - Gateways module
Hi Fabric Community,
I am trying to implement the Fabric Platform Monitoring with the new RTI capacity events:
fabric-toolbox/monitoring/fabric-platform-monitoring at main · microsoft/fabric-toolbox
I am having some issues with the powershell scripts for the gateway module, specifically the Get-DataGatewayInfo one. I can't get this to run and send values to the event stream.
At first I was encountering errors decrypting the service principal secret, and after resolving that I have run into 401 errors despite the service principal having full permissions and being used to hit these endpoints in other scripts I have.
Has anyone been able to get this working?

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
This is a known issue that many others are running into when using the Get-DataGatewayInfo script from the Fabric Platform Monitoring accelerator. Even if all the permissions are set up correctly, the script can still return a 401 Unauthorized because service principals don’t currently have full access to the gateway admin APIs.
- Ensure Service principals can use Admin APIs is enabled in Fabric Admin Portal and that the SP’s security group is explicitly added.
- Add the same group to the Monitoring workspace where the accelerator writes its data.
- Test a simple REST call using the same SP to confirm token scope.
