I wanted to give creating a "cartogram heatmap" visual a try. This challenge was the perfect opportunity!
The purpose of the visual is to show change in U.S. state representatives over the last 50 years (1970-2020) in the shape of the country, and call out in dynamic subtitle the states with the biggest gains and losses.
I also thought it would be interesting to see change in population for each state in the tooltip.
