Week 1 challenge — What changed in headcount between Jan 1 and Mar 31?
The net number is +2. Quiet. But the monthly breakdown tells a different story:
📈Jan: +8 hires, −3 exits
📈Feb: +6 hires, −4 exits
📉Mar: +5 hires, −10 exits
Hiring climbed for two months. Then March's exits wiped most of it out — 10 departures, ~59% of all Q1 exits. The +5 hires weren't enough.
Design choices:
- Monthly breakdown instead of a 3-bar Q1 aggregate — the story lives in the dynamics
- Sentiment colors (green / red / grey) for instant readability
- Title carries the insight, not just the topic
- Annotation on March to mark the inflection point
Native Waterfall visual. No custom visuals. No DAX.
Just one chart, one insight.

I love what you did with the text here "Hiring climbed for two months. Then March's exits wiped most of it out" and I love the big +2 number in the top left hand corner. It's the first thing I looked at. Great job - thanks for contributing!
