Firstnonblankvalue and Lastnonblankvalue release some time back. But they remained underutilized. They are very powerful in terms of finding the first and last values.
Say, For the customer, we wanted to know First Sales Dates, Sales Amount of first sales date. Firstnonblankvalue makes it easy.
Or, For the customer, we wanted to know the Last Sales Dates, Sales Amount of Last sales date. Lastnonblankvalue makes it easy.
You can use row context for correct grand total or more complex calculations. Or use one inside other for more such cases.
For First date and Last date you can also use Firstnonblank and Lastnonblank, but for sales you have to use Firstnonblankvalue and Lastnonblankvalue
