    Hi markcaday,

Do you want to view Salesforce report in Power BI Service? If that is the case, you can connect to Salesforce content pack following the instructions in this article, this way, Power BI will automatically provide a dashboard and related reports based on your data.

Additionally, you can connect to Salesforce via the following entries in Power BI Desktop, then create customize reports and publish them to Power BI Service and create your own dashboard in Power BI Service.

    Thanks,

      Hi Lydia,

      Thanks for the reply.

We are not connecting to Salesforce Report, we are trying to integrate to Salesforce Social Studio ( which is one of the module of Marketing Cloud).  Currently, Social Studio is not included in the Power BI pack.

      Regards,

      Mark

        Hi markcaday,

Currently, we are not able to connect to Salesforce Social Studio from Power BI. A similar idea has been submitted in this link, please vote it up.

In your scenario, you can consider to export data from Salesforce Social Studio to Excel, then connect to the Excel file to Power BI.

  • Hi markcaday were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector, which connects to SF marketing cloud and may have access to the SF social studio module. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

    Hi markcaday

The original solution is no longer applicable because Salesforce Social Studio was retired on November 18, 2024 and is no longer accessible. For historical reporting, use data exported before retirement. For ongoing reporting, the integration depends on the platform your organization migrated to.

Power BI Connector for Salesforce is not a Social Studio connector, but it can be used if the required data is now stored in Salesforce CRM objects.
