row-level security on report with powerbi service as data source
Not sure if this has already been answered. I have a report with a SQL server 16 data source, lets call that report A. I have another report (B) that uses Report A as a powerbi service data source. I want to apply row level security in report B. I cannot do thst in report B because it is greyed out, presumably because I am using report A as a data source so will I need to set row level security in report A for Report B?
It does work. I added row level security to the base report, published the report, set row level security on the report, published the second report that had the power bi service data source and then logged into the service as the user I set the security up on, it carries the security from the base report to the other report

I believe that is because it is a "Live" connection in report B, yes.
I may not have phrased my question properly. Do you have to set row level security in the original report, report A and will that carry over to report B?
