power bi file size limits
Anonymous If you are using the Power BI Desktop, you can change the PBIX file extension to .ZIP
If you then open the Zip file, it should show you the sizes of the different elements in the Desktop file. When you are done, you can change the extension back to .PBIX
Anonymous 1GB and 10GB are limit based per user. Therefore if you're free user you can have maximum allowed limit of 1GB in powerbi service and if Pro then 10GB and it doesn't matter how you got that limit in power bi service (through power bi desktop publish or connecting cloud based data sources). You can check your usage in powe bi service by going through settings icon in top right hand corner and click manage storage.

Thanks for the replies. I would also like to know if there is any way to calculate the size of the in memory data model based on the volume of the source data. This will help in optimising the data model.

I have not yet got answer to my question - is there a way to find the size of the data model based on the transaction tables records and dimension tables and advice clients.
