how to use outlook online 365 as a data source without exchange

Hi, i am using outlook online but it seems not to be defined as an exchange account.

 

as a result when i try to connect to the account i get an error

is there a way around this?

Hi, @davidm58 ;

This error can occur if you use the format for the User Name (Example: ).domain\usernamecontoso\user

Resolution
Within the Credentials section of the Email Server Profile record, use the UPN format (Example: ) for the User Name instead of format.user@contoso.comdomain\username

If the User Name is in the UPN format and you still meet this error, verify a mailbox exists for the user and the UPN value in the User Name field matches the email address for the user's mailbox in Exchange.

thanks but I'm afraid i dont understand.

 

I am using the 'exchange online' option to connect to the data, but it just wont connect.

 

note the account i want to connect to is office 365 family/home account, not a work account. i dont think it has a upn
