the only way to do row level security is to build a SSAS Abular cube with roles and expose it to the service using the Analysis Services Connector.

Thanks for reaching out. Let me make sure I understand the question, you have some dashboards shared with multiple users and you would like them to see different portions of the data based on their identity. Is that understanding correct?

If that's the scenario you are referring to, then it's not currently supported yet. Row level security is however something on the Power BI team's radar. There is an idea submitted here https://support.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi/suggestions/6843731-row-based-security feel free to vote for it so you can get updates when it's implemented.
