dynamic M query for Vertica DB - Bind Parameter

I have obtained data through DirectQuery mode from a Vertica datasource, and I want to create a dynamic filter using binding parameters. Can I write custom SQL in the advanced editor, or is there another option for this? Or can anyone suggest an ODBC DirectQuery mode connector?

yes, both options are available.  Make sure to indicate that your native query supports query folding.
