Hi everybody
i have a Data gateway (on prem) setup and configured to sysbase 17 - thats all ok (or at least showing online) , and existing reports (written on powerbi desktop on same host as gateway and published ) semantic models connect refresh etc no issues .
however if i go on another desktop (not host) and try get data from other sources no matter what i try i can't seem to get a connection 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ what am i missing ?????
Hi @DARREN_COOK ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
This error occurs because the new machine lacks the correct Sybase ODBC configuration. Either the driver isn’t installed, the DSN is missing or set up incorrectly, or there’s a version or DSN type mismatch (User vs. System DSN).
To resolve this, install the appropriate Sybase ASE ODBC driver on the new machine. Then, use the ODBC Data Source Administrator to copy the DSN settings from the working machine, ensuring you recreate it under the "System DSN" tab and match all details such as server, port, and database. Also, confirm the driver version aligns with the Power BI bit version (typically 64-bit). This approach will effectively address the connection issue.
