Year born to generation
I have a column listing the birthdate for people and a graph showing the amount of people in the table for each year. Instead of this I wanted to change the years to generations so that it simply showed how many people there were per generation (ie baby boomer, milenial, Gen X ect..). I could do this easily by spliting it up into one graph for each generation and then filtering the birth year but how would I do it in one graph?
As you formulated it - have a reference table with all year numbers and the generation that you think represents that year. The boundaries may be a bit wobbly though 🙂
