What is the meaning and impact of Power Platform "Power BI dataflows (Legacy)?

Until recently, I believe the preferred method of connecting to Dataflows was using the named connection, as opposed to the generic Dataflows. Has this now changed?

And should I be concerned about (Legacy) soon becoming (Deprecated)?

Note that we are connecting to true Power BI Dataflows, the ones previously referred to as CDMA (Analytics) and not a generic Common Data Services. (although the names change so frequently, I may have missed the memos)

Let me refine my original question based on your response. Specifically, the addition of "(Legacy" was very recent and I have not found an explanation of the changes, if any.

It through the official documentation：

A dataflow can be consumed in the following three ways:

• Create a linked table from the dataflow to allow another dataflow author to use the data

• Create a dataset from the dataflow to allow a user to utilize the data to create reports

• Create a connection from external tools that can read from the CDM format
