Unusual error when accessing an Access database...E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000FFFF

I am using the PBI desktop program in Windows 10 version 2.76.5678.782 64-bit (December, 2019) and have experienced an error this week while using our most utilized pbix dataset and when trying to create a new a new pbix file both with a connection to an Access database.

The Error is:

DataFormat.Error: No error message available, result code: E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000FFFF).

I have tried the following:

- copying the database directly to my computer instead of our network.

- creating a new database with 1 table from the old database

I keep getting the same error, I can connect to the data momentarily (1 or 2 times) but, any time I start to transform the data I get this error and can't continue.

Does anyone have any next step advice/suggestions?

Hello @Brew42

it seems that in some part of your table you have an transformation error.

Try to apply a Table.SelectRowsWithErros to see if there are some error after applying a Type conversion

Hope that helps

"Try to apply a Table.SelectRowsWithErros to see if there are some error after applying a Type conversion"

Where do you apply the so called "Table.SelectRowsWithErrors".  Could you please be more specific?

In the query editor, the link below might useful to you.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerquery-m/table-selectrowswitherrors

This helped.  Thanks!
