Unable to connect to the data source undefined.

Hello, we get this message - Unable to connect to the data source undefined.

Our report is connected to SQL server and an excel file through one gateway.

We cant figure it out.

Need Help

    Please let me know the information below.

    1. When do you get this error mesage?

    2. Could you connect the SQL server and an excel file in Power BI Desktop successfully?

    3. What' kind of the excel file? Online or local file?

    4. Have you add the data sources of SQL server and an excel file in on- premised gateway successfully?

    If it is convenient, could you share some screenshot to describe your scenario better. Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.

      I'm having similar challenge, the error message i kept getting is "We couldn't connect to your DirectQuery data source or internal model. Double-check that your server and database names are correct, and that you have permission to access them". My data source is excel and local file. Please help.
