Hi,
I want to report Firebase Data using Power BI. To achieve this I am bringing the Data to Google Analytics (Web). I am able to see Firebase Project & Reports here.
The problem is when I am using Google Analytics API through Power BI. It is showing only Google Analytics' Folders but not Firebase Projects.
Example:
In Google Analytics (Web UI) -
->App_Project1 (Firebase Project)
->OLTP (DB for GA)
->GA_Project1 (GA for Google Ads)
Whereas in Power BI through Google Analytics API
->OLTP
->GA_Project1
Here, Firebase project is not shown, why?
Also what are the other ways to achieve this?
Hi @lalkiran I know this reply is very late but were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector and you'll be able to get your firebase's data. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
@lalkiran I find it impressive that Microsoft did not even bother to reply. This is quite a pressing issue for app developers who rely on Power BI for insights on top of their current GA implementation.
I am going through exactly the same issue and could not find a proper solution or workaround. Being fully aware it has been a long time since this post, have you found anything that may be helpful?
Many thanks,
RCC
Hi @lalkiran ,
Actually, power bi connect with Google Analytics via Analytics Reporting API and we could load the metrics dimensions in Google Analytics.
I'm not familar with how to create project in Google Analytics.
You could have a good look at Analytics Reporting API and check if the data you want is supported in this API.
Best Regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,
Thanks for your reply! I don't want to create any Project in Google Analytics, it is already there (in Web UI) but I can't see that in Power BI. It looks like API is restricting it.
I want to know why is it restricted? Will this be made available in near future?
Regards,
Lal
