Subtract 2 Date Types, why duration????
so simple. subtract these 2 dates, format of dates is 1/1/2020, Date type [col1 Date] - [col2 Date] i get a duration as default output. i tried Int64.Type([col1 date] - Int64.Type([col1 date] ...

Since it's a duration, you can use Duration.Days to convert it to an integer.
= Table.AddColumn( #"Filtered Rows", "New_Existing_Cust", each if Duration.Days([Quarter_Sample_Recvd]) - [Prev Qrt Ordered]) < 365 then "existing" else "new" )
