Strange Refresh behavior from PowerBI designer (desktop) stored in onedrive - Personal Data Gateway

I noticed a strange / bug behaviour in refreshing from onedrive.

Import data from excel files in PowerBI designer , create reports - measures etc , and then saved it to Onedrive Business. Connect from PowerBI service, set the credentials for Schedule - Personal DMG installed & running..All good till now..

 

Data changed in data source ( excel files ) and Refresh on demand "Refresh Now" from browser..Great..work fast & new data showd up and also in the tiles..

But since the PowerBI service refresh every one hour from onedrive , the update reverted back  the data model from PowerBI designer file which stored the old data.

 

Anyone faced this problem..? Is this a known issue and will be fixed with GA?

    Hi,

     

    Thanks for reporting this issue. The team is now aware of this problem and working on a solution. For the time being as a workaround, can you upload the file through the 'Local File' route rather than the OneDrive route. Did that solve the problem?

    Thanks Youssef..no I didn't try the local file but since you are aware if this I am sure you do your best..and expect it soon..FYI the strange behaviour is also in PBI desktop in OneDrive. The tiles are refreshing and when you click to the underlying report it shies you the old data stored in OneDrive.
    Although if refresh the browser it shows the updated report..no problem for ne but can be confusing for end user..
