Show Whitespace option in Power Query Editor of Power BI Desktop

First, I am using the July 2019 release.

I am trying to figure out what the Show whitespace option on the View tab of the Power Query editor does (if anything).  I click and unclick it, but I can's see any obvious changes.

Does anyone know what this does?  Thanks!

Hi @alwweb,

yes, there is a difference but you have to have a data sample in which you see a difference.

I have created a column containing "a" <carriage return> "b" - it should be rendered on two lines.
The same behaviour can be seen also with #"lf" or #"tab".

Thank you!  I would have never figured that out on my own.

I miss old-school documentation in cases like this. 😊
