Setting up on premise tabular model access

For testing the whole flow i wanted to set up on premise tabular, simple report in power bi desktop and deploy and i found the power bi analysis services connector and the azure ad connect.

When installing the latter it requires windows server and im on windows 10 pc.

Can't i on a pc setup the whole environment ?

It depends whether your PC is domain-joined or not, and if your user has an organisational e-mail address.

Azure AD Connect is going to sync the on-premise AD-data to your Azure AD-environment to allow the Power BI Analysis Services Connector to translate your e-mailaddress to an AD account (DOMAIN\USER)

For now, the AS-connector doesn't allow the use of non-domain accounts and I have no idea if they're going to implement this in the future.
