v-yalanwu-msft, many thanks for your reply, My desired outcome is detailed below, as is my current calculation for new customers the issue is, the calculation is can't separate customers who meet the criteria for all 3 requirements.
Requirements need to be:
1. New customer in financial year having made 1 purchase
2. Returning customer from a prior financial year who has made 1 puchase in selected financial year
3. new customers making multiple purchases in finaincial year
4. returning customers from a prior fy who make multpile purchasses in selected financial year
