Salesforce data won't update in PowerBI

I have my Salesforce Reports feeding into a Dashboard on PowerBI but they will not refresh automatically. I have tried everything I have read to make sure the reports are connected properly.

Is there something I am doing wrong here. I used the "Get Data" button to pull the reports in and I have made sure the credentials in the settings are connected.

Does your dataset refresh when you click “Refresh Now” in Power BI Service? Assume that you have set schedule refresh for your dataset, have you seen any error message in Refresh History?

In addition, please also use Salesforce report connector in Power BI Desktop to connect to your data source, and check if you can refresh data in Power BI Desktop.

  • Hi piscitat were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

    Hi piscitat,

The root cause was not confirmed. I would check Refresh History, reauthenticate Salesforce in Power BI Service, and test the same report in Desktop.

Power BI Connector for Salesforce provides an alternative token-based connection without the native Reports connector’s 2,000-row limit.
