SSAS minimum version required for power BI cube usage

Hi,

We have SSAS 2005 cubes, are those possible to work with in Power BI? How can it possible for Power BI to read from them?

@Namnami,

When using "Connect Live" mode to connect to SSAS, the minimum version is SSAS 2012. When using "Import" mode, the minimum version is SSAS 2008 R2.

@Namnami,

It is supported to connect to SSAS 2008 R2 or later version in Power BI. In your scenario, please upgrade your SSAS 2005to SSAS 2008 R2 or later version.

There is a similar thread for your reference.

Thanks, from following link (see the limitations section) I see SSAS 2012 is required, not only 2008 R2 as you mention.

Please clarify which is the minimal version required to have power BI interactive cube reports?

@Namnami,

When using "Connect Live" mode to connect to SSAS, the minimum version is SSAS 2012. When using "Import" mode, the minimum version is SSAS 2008 R2.
