SAP Hana Data Ingestion
I am connecting to SAP Hana (just like SQL server) to ingest SAP data.
However, I am using SAP Query to pull the data into PowerQuery. I am using the filter only to pull data for three months because the amount of the data is very large. It takes almost one hour to bring the data into the PowerBI Data model to create the visualizations.
Question - If I only ingest sample data of One Month to help with visualization:
1. After the visualization work is completed, Is it possible to change the Query to 3 months in PowerBI services after the report is published? This way, automatic data ingestion can happen in the background through the gateway.
OR
2. After the visualization work is completed, Is it possible to change the query to three months in Power Query and publish the report without bringing it into the Model? This way, automatic data ingestion can happen in the background through the gateway.

You can add a query parameter in Power Query Editor to filter the rows and change its value later after publishing to the service.

You can also consider creating a dataflow to query and transform data first. This is like Power Query Online version and stores data in the service. Then you can connect to the dataflow to get data and create reports in Power BI Desktop.
