SAP BW Connector
- JuandreR9 years agoAdvocate IFor anyone wondering how to get the SAP NW RFC working in Power BI so you can connect to a SAP BW Datasource, download the SAP NW RFC files from the SAP Website (DLL + LIB files). Extract the downloaded file and copy the contents into the BIN folder located inside your Power BI installation directory.

Hi JuandreR,
Is there anyway to know which version of Netweaver you need? Or is it safe to think you need the latest Netweaver (7.5) if you have the latest update of PowerBI (march 2017) installed?
Thanks for any reply.

Id appraciate any help on this too. I had the same issue, I downloaded all the *.dll and still no luck. I'm advised by colegues that after navigating "Get Data > Sap Business Warehouse Server" they see a prompt to configure IP address etc. I never see this and despite searching the app I have not found a place to enter this. Any clues?

Hi,
I am getting the following error after downloading the nwrfcsdk.zip file and putting the contents of the file in Bin folder. Can anyone who has resolved this issue help ?

Hi,
I have fixed this. You need SAP.net connector installed in your GAC library. The SAP .net connector is available in SAP library. Once you start installing it will prompt for where to install, select the second option i.e. Install in GAC.
Also make sure you get the correct version of SAP. net connector. If you have 32 bit version of Power Bi desktop, you need 32 bit SAp.net connector else for 64 bit power Bi version, you need 64 bit >net connector.
Also I havent tried, but i believe these connectors will be available in GAC if you are in a windows 10 machine, so you can try that option too.
Thanks,
