[SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General warning;1281 wrong number or types of parameters in call

Hi Team,

We have an on-premise data gateway installed which is connecting to my SAP HANA Database. However all of a sudden we are notincing that certain reports are failing due to data type mismatch

DM.EnterpriseGateway Error: 0 : 2023-11-16T10:32:08.5838388Z DM.EnterpriseGateway 97c018c2-5fcf-4dd2-af78-6b539d101ac7 0d542623-2e81-4af3-a524-de576e98626a MDSR 4096ccb8-33a4-4065-880b-53ece110436f c0b90d46-fdbd-4ad9-99a1-88b2a11dc2d6 c0b90d46-fdbd-4ad9-99a1-88b2a11dc2d6 8B21C03B [DM.Pipeline.Diagnostics] Exception object created [IsBenign=True]: Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Pipeline.Diagnostics.MashupDataAccessValueException: <ccon>ODBC: SUCCESS_WITH_INFO [01000] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General warning;1281 wrong number or types of parameters in call: Column mismatch happened at "_SYS_BIC"."XXX.sec.common.ByContext::XXXXContext": Target type "NVARCHAR(12)" of attribute "TABDELEGATEFOR"."USERID" not same as assigned type "VARCHAR(30)"</ccon>; ErrorShortName: MashupDataAccessValueException[ErrorCode=-2147467259,HResult=-2147467259]/Wrapped(MashupValueException)[ErrorCode=-2147467259,HResult=-2147467259]

Ofcourse I have checked with eth developer but didn't get any satisfactory response.

I am using the latest possible HANA Client. I have already created a case with SAP and waiting for their response. Any idea?

Thanks,

  • Target type "NVARCHAR(12)" of attribute "TABDELEGATEFOR"."USERID" not same as assigned type "VARCHAR(30)"

    That is not something you can influence in Power Query. Have a look in the ODBC connection settings if you can modify it there.

    lbendlin  Thank you so very much!

    I couldn't find anything specific with regards to this kind of data type mapping settings in my PBI Gateway Conneciton settings.

    I was told that the query is gettng executed perfectly fine in the backend HANA DB but in conjunction with PBI it does not work.

    Thanks,

      You need to look in the ODBC settings, not the gateway connection settings.

      If you don't mind, could you provide details about the piece of code you fixed in Hana.
