REPHRASING / REPOSTING **HELP NEEDED**
Hi All
I am fairly new to Power Query / BI.
I am trying to create a schedule for rotation of duties among employees. An example of the required output for daily rotation is below. Please note how each employee (EE) is rotating across each work station as the we move across the coloumns/Dates.
How can i achieve this.
@v-juanli-msft @az38 @Anonymous .Please help
Hi @darsh39
Is your table like this?
| Work Stations | Employees | date |
Please share an example for analysis.
If you have no original data, but you want to create such visual, please tell me detailed rule.
Best Regards
Maggie
Hi @v-juanli-msft (Maggie)
Thank you for considering my issue.
So i have 3 elements
1. List of Work Stations
2. List of Employees along with their rotation patterns (Daliy/ Weekly)
3. The original state of EEs and Work Stations on a particular date, in this case 1st Jan 2020. From this date onwards the EEs rotate as per their rotation patterns which could be daily or weekly.
The visual element is not really needed, i just had it so that you could notice how the EEs are moving / rotating to different work station.
Hi @darsh39
If i understand you correctly, you want to create a schedule rotation of duties among employees.
Power BI needs complete data to create tables or reports.
It doesn't support to create needed data table based on uncompleted data.
It may be possible if you could provide detailed rule.
As for the topic : create a schedule rotation of duties among employees,
You may need to use some other tool, then with the completed data, you can analyze it with Power BI.

Hello,
Have you been able to achieve your desired result yet? If so, mind sharing how you got there? If are still exploring, it would nice if you share dummy data in excel, especially the three tables you mentioned- employee, workstations and the default positions of the EEs. From my experience it’s often the relationship that plays a major role in determining which DAX formula you need to use. At a first glance, I believe you can start looking into something like this blogpost by Reza Rad.
