Project for the Web - PowerBI reporting

I'm using the "Microsoft Project for the web Power BI Template" template and would like to change the 'Resource Assignments' section to show resource assignments to their Level 1 tasks only

Hi, in order to try and reduce the number of projects in my portfolio, I elected to create more that one project within each P4TW project. In a similar way that I use to do the same in the MS Project desktop client, rather than creating several project files, I would show each project as a Level 1 task and create project deliverables as Level 2 tasks and tasks as Level 3 tasks.

I've used the same approach in P4TW - create a new project. Then create several projects within it, using the same approach. In the example below, I've created a new project in P4TW called 'Project Collection 1" and then used the Level 1 task to represent a sub-project within it:

Project Collection 1

                                      Effort          Complete         Remaining         Assigned To

1. Project ABC                26hrs          6hrs                 20hrs

2.     Deliverable 1          20hrs          5hrs                 15hrs

3.          Task ABC1         20hrs          5hrs                 15hrs                  Fred

4.     Deliverable 2          6hrs           1hrs                  5hrs

5.          Task ABC2         5hrs           1hrs                   4hrs                   Fred

6.          Task ABC3         1hr             0hrs                  1hr                     Jane

6. Project XYZ

7.     Deliverable 1

8.          Task XYZ1

9. Project 888

+ Add new task

I'm using the "Microsoft Project for the web Power BI Template" template and would like to change the 'Resource Assignments' section to show resource assignments to their Level 1 tasks only. If Fred was working on 'Project ABC' and assigned to 'Task ABC1' and 'Task ABC2', it currently shows this as -

- Fred

     - Project Collection 1

          - Task ABC1               15hrs (Remaining)

          - Task ABC2                4hrs (Remaining)

I would like it to show only Fred's allocation to the Level 1 task -

- Fred

     - Project Collection 1

          - Project ABC             19hrs (remaining)

How can I amend the PowerBI report to achieve this?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi @Anonymous ,

I am not clear about your data structure, in your scenario, it seems that you have hierarchy in your dataset. So if possible, could you please inform me more detailed information(such as your expected output and your sample data )? Then I will help you more correctly.

Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.

Thanks for your understanding and support.
Best Regards,
