Problem loading power query into excel/power bi

excel error.PNG

Hi guys, recently I have been having trouble exporting a file from an ODBC server into both excel/power bi.  Everytime I try to load the file it says its running but no rows are being loaded it just keeps reiterating that it is retrieving data and eventually crashes.  Any idea why?

Hi @cdawidow

If you connect to odbc with the connector below, please write statement here to limit data to be imported.

If  the limited data can be imported successfully, it indicates the connection is good.

Then please check if there is much data in odbc source or the network/computer circumstance is limited.

  1. what is your data source?
  2. how many records are in that table?

You can try to filter it in Power Query to just a few hundred rows as a test and see if that loads.

DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling
