Problem connecting to SharePoint with gateway

Hello

im getting a very strange error while trying to set up the gateway. The GW was singed in with the organizational account that is owner of the SP site, but when i try to schedule a refresh i get the following error:

Capture.JPG

I dont really see what is wrong here since if i have the PBIX open in the desktop app all is well, all data soursces are connected.

Than i publish it and try to schedule a refresh and it complains that it cant reach SP.

Everything is done with the same account. The also has a powerBi pro licence

Anyone have any ideas or have seen sth like this?

Regards Tim

Hi @SirStimfy ,

Please share more details to let me know your scenario better.

1. What is your data source? Single data source or combine data source?

2. Do you connect with the SharePoint online source or the on -premises SharePoint source?

3. If you refersh the dataset manually in Power BI Service, will it have this error?

4. Which data gateway do you use? Personal mode or Recommanded mode?

5. Could you refresh other dataset with the gateway successfully?

Best  Regards,

Cherry

Hello @v-piga-msft

I will answer all the questions in order:

  1. It is a mixed data source some MySql (on-prem) databases and some SP online. I did note the "Allow user's cloud data sources to refresh through this gateway cluster" for mixed sources, so that tick is enabled on the gateway.
  2. It is a SP online source.
  3. If i refresh the data-set manually i get the same error:
    Data source error:
Unable to refresh the model (id=xxx) because it references an unsupported data source.
  4. The gateway is the On Premise gateway, non personal mode.
  5. The only way i can get to refresh is if i remove this 2 data-sets in question. Also if this error is here the "data-set" page will not even show me credential inputs on the Power BI web page. If i remove this 2 data-sets in question the credential section pops up including SharePoint credentials and all the rest of data-sets. I would post some pictures, but i cant seem to add them in the rich text editor here.

The strangest thing in all of this is that i have a third data-set that references the exact same SharePoint site online, and works fine after i remove the problematic ones.

Any suggestions are welcome since im quite stuck now.
