Problem Login Microsoft Power BI Personal Gateway (Preview)

Hi, i've installed  Power BI Personal Gateway... but next Windows login is failed... any suggestion?

@TomClancy Try giving your PC name and password while setting up Data Management Gateway.

For eg in my case it was

username: ashish\ACER

password : ******** (Password used for login into windows)

Note: If you do not have a password for your PC then create one and try again. It should work as in my case!

Hi,

I am also running into a problem when trying to connect my computer account.
My error is: "Registering the Analysis Service Connector failed: NetworkIssue".
My computer set as an administrator and I connected to the internet.
Any ideas why?

Hi, do you have permissions to run as a service?, keep in mind that if you are admin the personal gateway will run as a service, but if you are not admin, your personal gateway will run as an application, I tried the personal gateway yesterday and is working fine as a service, but not precisely as an application.

I had the same problem. I added myself as an Administrator on the local machine and it allow installation to complete.

Side note: Not sure *HOW* I was able to add myself as an Admin, as I thought only Admins could add Admins and therefore I had admin level priviledges granted via group membership somehow, but hey, it worked.
