PowerBI connection to non-US bigquery dataset
I have a bigquery dataset that is located in europe-west3. I can authenticate via google account or service account, both works. It shows my datasets. Yet, when i try to open a dataset to see my tables, i get the following error:
DataSource.Error: ADBC: Cannot execute <ExecuteQueryInternalAsync>b__1 after 5 tries. Last exception: The service bigquery has thrown an exception. No HttpStatusCode was specified. Job example-project-id/US/job_ab61dee2_8b4a_41d2_99ea_c5fda23d0651 contained 2 error(s). First error message: Not found: Dataset example-project-id:example_data_set was not found in location US

It looks like it is trying to search for a dataset in the US location. But i cannot find a way to change this behavior to look in location europe-west3. Has anyone had the same issue? How did you solve it? Moving the dataset to US is not an option unfortunately.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To solve this issue that you are facing with location
You can try using Simba ODBC driver by following these steps :
1. Download the Simba ODBC driver for BigQuery from Google
2. Go to System DSN → Add → Simba ODBC Driver for Google BigQuery.
3. Fill in the Details - Project Id: your-project-idDataset Id: your-dataset-id
Location: europe-west3
4. In Power BI Desktop → Get Data → ODBC.
Select your required DSN .

Go to Setting > Options > Preview features, and disable Use new Google BigQuery connector implementation option.
And after that, for the source already implement ,try to modifiy in source Implementation= null instead of Implementation= "2.0"I experienced the same issue, but disabling the new Google BigQuery connector implementation resolved the issue.
Go to Options and settings (under the File tab) > Options > Preview features, and then select the checkbox to disable the Use new Google BigQuery connector implementation option.This worked for me, thanks
Currently, I'm trying to figure out the same problem and haven't found a solution yet. Let me know when you find one.

Prasanna KumarI am also getting same error message. I have updated the "Preview features" and modified "Implementation" as suggested in previous posts. Still getting below error.
