Power Query gets stuck and takes does not responds at all

I have a pbix file in IMPORT connection method, the pbix file size is now 39MB, This pbix file uses Analysis Services Connector and connects to different Workspaces which are hosted on P1 SKU. However, when I try and make change to the pbix file this then takes forever, I tried to test this out and copied the M code of the query that is getting hung and pasted this in a new power bi file and it worked in a charm (very fast) .

I have also use the query diagnostics feature and refresh the data but then this does not help me in understanding what causes the query to get locked out and not perform at all.

I have made changes to the query named CustomerRepairDemand, and not touched the other 2 queries, but when I do Apply changes this then pulls the other 2 items as well, as a note 2 queries named (CustomerRepairDemand and Complaints) pulls data from the same Workspace, but with different databases. I had waited for more than 6 hours and nothing happens after the window shown below no data gets loaded and cant see the changes I have done, any idea on how to get this working, strange bit is the same query with all steps works fine when copied to new pbix file, so not sure whats happening

    Hi Anonymous ,

    Please try:
    1. Disable privacy check for the report.

    blog.crossjoin.co.uk
    2. Clear PBI Desktop cache.

    www.c-sharpcorner.com

3.Refresh all queries in preview. (Go to Edit Queries --> Refresh Preview on every table --> Close and Apply --> Refresh Data)
    4. Clean cache then refresh all in preview.

    Best Regards,
    Gao
